1 October 2026 – 14 October 2026 · Published 15 October 2026

Halloween has reached the casino lobbies, and Ghost Booster has arrived with a promise that deserves a closer look. There's also a fox planning a vault robbery, a coin-filled Slingo grid and an AI tipster advert that landed in trouble.

These are our five picks from 1-14 October. The game release dates come from suppliers; UK availability is checked separately against operator listings.

What does Ghost Booster actually guarantee?

Why it matters: The guarantee applies to the triggered bonus payout, not your overall balance.

Play'n GO released Ghost Booster! GO Guaranteed on 1 October. Betfred lists the exact game in its UK catalogue with a 20p minimum stake. Behind the haunted-house setting is a feature worth understanding before that reassuring word in the title does too much work.

The GO Guaranteed meter sets a minimum return for a triggered Hold & Spin bonus. Collector symbols appearing without Coins move the meter upwards. Six or more Coins start the bonus with three respins; a new Coin or Collector resets the counter. If the bonus finishes below the meter's value, the game raises that bonus payout to the guaranteed figure.

That promise concerns the bonus result. It does not guarantee recovery of the cost of the spins leading up to it, or that your session will finish ahead. The meter is part of the feature, so don't read it as a reason to keep spending until the bonus arrives.

Redtail Robber's new gadgets are just for show

Why it matters: The equipment upgrades are visual. The Coin, Fox and bonus rules determine what happens in the game.

Robbert Redtail dresses for the job. The fox fronting Play'n GO's Redtail Robber Cash Vault Heist gets better-looking heist gear as Coins are collected, but the supplier says those upgrades are purely cosmetic. They don't improve the game mechanics.

Released by Play'n GO on 8 October, the game has a separate UK listing at Betfred with a 10p minimum stake. According to the supplier, the Fox collects landed Coin values when it appears on the fifth reel during the base game. The bonus can trigger from a Coin, while six Coins in one spin guarantee entry; new Coins or Mystery symbols reset its three-life counter.

The useful distinction is between the character's appearance and the symbols that actually affect a payout. Enjoy the fox's wardrobe changes, but don't mistake a flashier outfit for better odds on the next spin.

Cash Vortex gives Slingo players a different sort of grid

Why it matters: Read the coin-grid and bonus rules before carrying assumptions over from another Slingo title.

Betfred's new-games bulletin for the week beginning 12 October includes Cash Vortex Lock & Slingo. Published on 11 October, it gives the game a place in this fortnight's UK selection. That is a dated operator listing, not the game's worldwide release date.

The game uses a 5-by-5 grid, with completed Slingo lines paying the values of their Coins. A Cash Vortex gathers values across the board, while an X symbol starts a wheel that multiplies the cash symbols. The Lock & Slingo bonus begins with three lives, resetting them when a qualifying Coin, X or Vortex arrives.

Betfred's game page lists a 10p minimum stake. If you usually associate Slingo with crossing off numbers, the coin values and resetting bonus are the details to get familiar with here. Read the paytable before assuming it works like another game with Slingo in the name.

The AI tipster ad that promised 97% accuracy

Why it matters: Treat an advertised prediction percentage as a claim to examine, not independent proof that you will make money.

An advert for AI Scorecast claimed its football predictions were 97% accurate. On 14 October, the Advertising Standards Authority upheld its challenge against the Facebook advert, which had been seen in April.

The ASA found that the advert implied users would be very likely to profit. It stressed successful predictions without explaining the possibility of losing tips or losing money. HRY Games, trading as AI Scorecast, did not respond to the regulator's enquiries. The advert must not appear again in its current form, and the matter went to CAP's Compliance team.

A big percentage can look convincing. Before trusting one, ask what was measured, over how many predictions, and whether losses are included. This ruling concerns a particular football prediction advert; it is not a new casino rule.

Grosvenor's missed player checks: what the case actually covered

Why it matters: Check which business and which service a regulatory decision actually concerns.

The Gambling Commission's 7 October action concerned three Rank-owned operators running 51 land-based casinos. One finding stands out: a customer returning after self-exclusion received no safer-gambling interaction until they had lost £25,000.

The Commission also identified a failure to carry out interactions while another customer lost £50,000. The operators will undergo a third-party audit of their anti-money-laundering and safer-gambling policies, procedures and controls.

These were findings about failures to meet existing responsibilities. They did not introduce a new October rule, and the case concerned the named land-based businesses rather than Grosvenor's online casino. If a headline just says 'Grosvenor', check which service the decision covers before drawing conclusions about your own account.
